Dear Tao:

Just one week ago, you came in to our lives with a healthy loud cry. I knew right away that you would be a healthy boy from the strength of your wondrous voice. Even in the last week, your voice along with the rest of you continues to grow. You passed all of the tests that the physicians could dream up with flying colors.

Before you could be released fully in to the arms of your Mommy and I, we had to endure your first cries of pain as the doctors bathed you and administered a number of vaccines. I knew from the moment I touched you that you would be a gentle soul. This is how we came to know you as Tao.

The past week have been spent meeting your needs as best as we can. You wake to eat every two hours or so and for diaper changes. Every now and again, you surprise us by opening your eyes just to let us know that you're paying attention to minute details of your surroundings. All this to say that you continue to astound and amaze. We love you so much and feel extremely blessed to be chosen to be your traveling companion on this wonderful journey of a lifetime.
