The times, they are changing

Dear Song,

It is my goal to write you a letter that is composed of more than a few lines and potentially more than one paragraph, however I've found it difficult to sit down long enough to put down my thoughts. This is not any fault of you or your mother, but rather due to my ability to efficiently prioritize my time. I'm not sure that I will be able to do it in this particular session, however I plan on writing a number of blog posts specific to my thoughts of you to assist with this endeavor.

As I sit here typing this, the time is currently 11:35 PM on November 6, 2011. It's been a long day due to the time change and things started out a little early since I forgot to set back the clock on my phone. This morning, you woke up in a great mood. The first thing I remember after my alarm went off is you rolling over to me and gently touching my face to see if I was awake. As soon as my eyes opened, you smiled and gave a little laugh signaling that the day was to begin. Unfortunately, due to my tiredness level, I did not immediately get out of bed and follow you on your journey to explore. First you checked on your books to make sure all of the animals were still there. Then you excitedly crawled in to the kitchen to check on Grandma Edith who greeted you with a hug and a smile.

I believe it was at this point that your mommy got up to follow you on your day's adventures. Starting out the day with breakfast always makes life a little bit easier and play more fun. As I dozed in bed, I could overhear the intermittent strains of laughter from the kitchen over the gentle early morning rain. I love hearing your joyous responses each time you discover something new about your environment.
