Continuing the search

I wait, I wonder, I continue to search.

As an exercise, perhaps in futility, I have made a goal to dedicate the year 2013 to making a greater effort to search for information about my past. The lofty end-goal is to find as much as possible about any parental connection that may still exist after so many years.

With this goal in mind, I reached out to Tieu Koehler, a friend from my past to see if she would be willing to join in the search effort.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I, like you often wonder the same things you wonder about, but I've been raised on the idea that it is impossible to find any history about myself as I have nothing realistic to begin a search. I'm honored that you want me to help, but I'm not sure what this would involve. I'd love to help in whatever way I can, but you will have to guide me along the way. Even though we don't communicate often, I'm greatful that you are out there. (Sorry, if I did not address your questions, I'm not thinking clearly right now.)

Please forgive my stream of consciousness.

Do you ever wake up and wonder, what might have it been like had I not been adopted? What if my parents are still out there looking, loving, wondering? These questions plague much of my waking moments when I give myself time to think about me. Every now and again, I contemplate the staggering logistics of performing an actual search in to my origins. Perhaps I wouldn't like what I found. Perhaps there isn't anything to find. Then again, perhaps all my dreams would come true. The reality of the matter is that the dream is in the searching process. Now that Tam is gone, you are my only true link to a past that haunts me. No matter how much I push it away, the thoughts come back, retreat, and come back with greater force the next time.

I'm not sure what I'm asking for, but what I do know is that I want to continue my search and I want to learn from your experiences thus far. I want to help you search if you would have me. Will you please be my guide on this journey? In turn, will you let me be yr's?
